I’ve had the opportunity to take Baxter’s portraits for several years now, and it’s such a blessing to be able to photograph his little sister as well! These two are both full of energy and didn’t slow down the entire session. I just followed along and watched these two have a ball, taking their portraits in the process. I love how they turned out! These are some of mama’s favorites:
Fall is officially here, even though it doesn’t really feel like it temperature-wise most days! We had an absolutely gorgeous morning for The Simpson family’s fall family portraits! This entire family is SO photogenic! I had a great time watching the kids run around and play in the midst of getting some gorgeous pictures that this family will get to enjoy for years to come! Here are some of their favorites:
This sweet baby boy came to see me last week! He was a little older than the typical ‘newborn’ session at 4 weeks, but with a little time and patience he let us get some gorgeous portraits that his mama and daddy will love for years to come! Just look at all of his gorgeous hair!!
How can it be that this beautiful little boy is already sitting up? Didn’t I JUST do his newborn session!? This fun-loving little boy has the most contagious little grin you will ever see. I can’t wait to watch him grow and see all of the adventures his mama and daddy take him on ❤
Oh, and I think he wins the award for most adorable Halloween costume for 2016!
After getting rained out a few times, we were finally able to meet at Lake Monticello for Kaylee’s sunset summer session. It was a little bit hot and a lot humid, but she never once complained! We hopped around from place to place and finished with a gorgeous painted sunset in the sky. She nor the sky disappointed that evening! She has the sweetest, most gentle spirit about her, and I know her parents would be SO proud of who she is today. Here are a few of Kaylee’s favorites (we will be sharing more soon since she decided to do the 2-part senior session….summer AND fall!)
Andres (or Andy as some call him) just celebrated his 6th birthday! What a handsome little guy! His mama always has him dressed SO cute, so I wasn’t surprised at all when he came in looking like this: 
This sweet little guy turned 3 last month! His mama always has his portraits done on his birthday, so we met at The University of Arkansas at Monticello campus and had some fun! I love this little guy so much…he is packed full of personality and has a grin that gets him anything he wants lol. We took Hampton’s portrait beside his daddy’s brick (UAM alumni) and also by the bell, which is where his parents were married! How neat is that?
Landon is a senior at Dewitt High School. When his mom booked his session and was describing him to me when we were planning, she said “he is a good kid, good heart, doesn’t require a lot of ‘things’, awesome 3 point shooter, has a sweet girlfriend, thoughtful and respectful.” Let me tell you, this kid lives up to every single thing his mama said. His love of basketball stands out, but one thing that shined even brighter than that is the love he had for his grandpa. See, Landon’s grandpa passed away a little while ago. He was one of Landon’s biggest fans. I heard stories of how his grandpa would load all of the older grandkids up and take them on road trips in his old ford truck. So many memories were made on those trips and I had the privilege of hearing a few of them.
Two things that Landon wanted to make sure he had in his senior portraits were his grandpa’s truck (with an image of him in the drivers seat just like the portrait they had of his grandpa) and his grandpa’s special shoes. These shoes weren’t just any old pair of shoes. Landon’s mama, Laura, said “They were the ugliest pair of shoes that daddy had, but he wore them to one of the older boys games and they won that night, so he decided after that that he would wear them to every single game he went to. Mama begged him not to wear them because they were so ugly, but he insisted and he did!” I’m so thankful I had the honor to pay tribute through my photography to such a great man. I may not have known him, but just the little bit I’ve heard speaks volumes of who he was and the love he had for his family. I feel like Landon is on that same path, with many great men in his life showing him by example of the man he needs to be.
We had an absolute gorgeous evening for Cheyenne’s senior session. She was lucky in that she didn’t suffer with the humidity and heat my other seniors had to endure this summer. Let’s just say we were thankful for a/c’s in their cars! lol!
Cheyenne has such an eye for putting outfits together. This girl has major style! She has such a soft-spoken gentle personality and I enjoyed getting to know Cheyenne and her mom throughout the 2 hours we spent together that evening! I love that she wanted to honor her brother who is in the military by having some portraits taken with his picture and an American flag!
Narrowing down her gallery to their favorites was hard (and they decided they couldn’t live without any of them so they got them all lol!), but here are the ones that made it to the top!
Jimmy’s mama, Cindy, contacted me a month ago about setting up an appointment for Jimmy’s senior session. This wasn’t just any ‘normal’ senior session to Jimmy and his family. You see, Jimmy is one of the first from several generations on his daddy’s side to graduate from High School; to actually walk across the stage and receive a diploma. If you are a parent, you know how your chest puffs and your heart swells with pride when your child accomplishes something they worked so hard for. I can’t imagine the amount of pride his parent’s are feeling to know their son is accomplishing such a milestone in his life and in his family’s life.
I watched Jimmy and his parent’s watch the slideshow of his images, and when his mama started crying, Jimmy immediately went over and put his arms around her. I listened to his daddy tell him over and over throughout the session how incredibly proud he was of him. Talk about making your heart swell with emotion! I absolutely love my career and I can’t even begin to imagine doing anything else, and evenings like I had with them just affirm to me that God has me exactly where I need to be.
