“Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale”

I’m not sure Whitney and Hunter will have many years ahead that will top this one.  They’ve both graduated college in the past few months, and to top it off, sweet baby Walker will be joining them in the next few weeks!  These are two of the best people you will ever meet, and they’re going to be amazing parents.

Oh, and I promise you, Walker will not know what the word ‘no’ means- his grandparents will make sure of that! haha!

Here are Whitney and Hunter’s session favorites

Mommy & Me | Dumas, Arkansas Child Photographer

“While trying to teach our children about life, our children teach us what life is all about” -Anonymous

Delaney brought her sweet little boy in for some ‘mommy and me’ pictures, and we snuck a few in of her too :).  I’m so proud of Delaney for making time to have professional portraits done with Austin.  She knows exactly what’s important.

Can I get on my soap box just a second?

Mama’s usually get so caught up in the busyness of life, and all too often put themselves last to be in pictures.  The most common excuse I hear is ‘I want to lose weight before I have any done’.

Well, mama, we don’t know what life will throw at us, so don’t put it off.

Your children do not see you through their eyes how YOU see yourself.

Your children see you as the person who makes all of their boo-boo’s better.  The person who knows just the right tickle spot to make them laugh.  The person who makes the best macaroni and cheese, from the box, that was ever made in the history of mankind.  Oh, and that extra ‘fluff’ you’re wanting to lose?  That ‘fluff’ is engrained in your childs memory of being the most comfortable way to fall asleep.  They will remember all of those things.

Not that mama needs to lose 10 lbs.  They don’t notice that at all.

Want to know how I know these things?  Because these things are what I remember about my mama.  I honestly never noticed anything else about her.  Now that she’s gone, I constantly dig through old pictures, praying I find some of me with my mom, or even of my mom by herself, that I haven’t seen before.  When I find a new one, it’s better than finding gold.

One day, my friend, pictures will be all your family has left of you.

Be in them.  Be present.  Take hundreds, thousands.  Take them for your family, and most importantly if you have kids, take them for your babies.

Off my soap box now 🙂

Austin is a little charmer, and I love that we had a chance to snap some of Delaney by herself.

Delaney, you will love these forever,  and Austin will be so thankful he has them too.

Hudson | Dumas, Arkansas Newborn Photographer

I didn’t think Hudson could out-do his big brother, Henry, at his newborn session.  You see, a few years back, Henry came in as the most amazing, sleepy baby there was, and his session was smooth sailing.  Not a bump in the road whatsoever.

Then along came Hudson.

Already in competition with his big brother, like all brothers do.

Not only did this sweet baby do exactly as his big brother and sleep most of the time (he did keep his eyes open for a few, but was completely calm!), BUT he holds the record at the studio for the most smiles at a newborn session!  This baby was throwing them left and right!  A photographers dreammmmm!

You can’t help but to smile when you see these-

Mack | Dumas, Arkansas Newborn Photographer

“He is everything that is perfect, wrapped in a tiny bundle.”

Everyone, meet Mack.  He is perfect in every way, and loved more than he can imagine by his Mama, Daddy, big sister Anna, and his entire family!  Mack was an angel baby, sleeping most of the time, and letting us bend and wiggle him into any position we wanted.  I definitely got my baby fix that day ❤  Thank you, Andrew and Samantha, for letting me love on this sweet baby and take his portraits.

Coffee Shops & College

With their  Senior year coming to an end, I decided to do one last shoot with my 2018 Model Team.  This was sort of like their ‘send off’ shoot, and a way for me to get in one last official good-bye.  These girls are scattering off all across the state in the fall, so I wanted them to be able to have pictures with their friends and also representing the college they will attend starting in August.

There’s no better place to gather right now than at the new coffee shop in town, Monticello Coffee Company.  This place is amazing.  Not only is the inside completely remodeled from what the former building used to be, but their hot/cold drink & food menu is top-notch.  There’s no need to drive all the way to Little Rock for one of those ‘big name’ coffee drinks when you can hop right over to Monticello and have one locally.  Seriously, if you haven’t tried them, you must….immediately.

SO- this group of amazing girls came glammed up with their future college t-shirt on and we had a blast.  They sipped on their homemade lemonade drinks and lounged all around the shop.  I loved hearing their excitement about all of the upcoming changes in their life.  If there’s ever been anyone prepared and ready for change, it’s these girls.  Of course, when I asked what they look forward to most after graduation, you can just about guess what they said…….

SENIOR TRIP!

I had so many amazing seniors last year that I was blessed to get to know and to photograph.  If I could share with them one piece of advice that they can carry throughout their life from here on out, it would be 100% to pray and to trust.  Whenever a difficult decision arrives and you don’t know what path to take, PRAY for God’s guidance.  He will always answer, in His perfect timing.  If/Whenever that outcome isn’t necessarily what you had hoped and prayed for, TRUST that God’s plan is perfect and things always work out in the end.

I love each and every one of ‘my seniors’, and I’ll miss seeing them around this fall.  I hope they always remember me and the fun we had at their sessions.  My ultimate goal with every senior is to make their session an experience they will never forget, and to give them 110% in everything I do.  I pray they felt that.

CLASS OF 2018, HERE’S TO AN AMAZING FUTURE!!

Garret | Dumas, Arkansas Senior Photographer

I love when family comes along a senior shoot.  It adds to the memories being made.  I also love when they plan to take a few shots.  Most families I talk with say they haven’t had professional pictures done in 20+ years, so it really means a lot to me that they have a few done with their child during such an important season of their life.

Garret wasn’t super excited for his senior session (truthfully, not many guys are), but I think I won him over by the end.  Here are his mom’s favorites:
