Jennifer | Dumas, Arkansas Senior Photographer

Jennifer came to me all the way from Rison. She graduated early and plans to join the Army, where she plans to become a medic. This girl is DRIVEN! I wish I knew what I wanted like that when I was her age. I have no doubt she will accomplish everything she told me!

Let me also mention that she did her own make up, and it was flawless! She didn’t get a prom this year (like all the other high school students) due to the virus, and wanted to show off her gorgeous prom dress. That’s just what we did!

Here are Jennifer’s favorites from her session:

Jake T. | Class of 2020 | DeWitt, Arkansas Senior Photographer

Sometimes there are families that I get to meet with this business that reminds me of my own.  The type of family who does most everything together.  The kids are all pretty close in age and grow up together, sometimes even having birthday parties together.  The kind of family that clears out a section of the bleachers when they come, because they all come to support and cheer on their kid.  That’s my family (sorry for the people we sometimes run off because of that LOL), and that’s Jake’s family.

It would be tough to find a more genuine crew out there, and Jake is blessed.  Farming is deep in their veins, and Jake even wrote a poem about it that we incorporated into one of his senior portraits.  In this picture (that you’ll see below), he was wearing his grandpa’s belt, standing in their family field.

We hopped around to a few places during his session- their farm, a special place back in the woods near the bayou, the Gillett welcome sign & football field, and even his grandma’s yard.  Speaking of his grandma’s yard- Jake wanted to do a few of those corny ‘senior pics’ that was hot in the 80’s and 90’s, so the ones you see with the tree are what we came up with.  I must say though, his mom and I laughed because they weren’t THAT bad!!  I wasn’t surprised at his request- this is coming from a guy who’s group of friends decided they all wanted to grow mullets, and brought the ‘business in the front/party in the back’ to 2019/2020!  They’ve got guts, humor, and know how to make a memory!

Here are some favorites from Jake’s session.  Also, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- families who come back to me over and over for portraits are giving me the highest honor I could ever achieve.  There’s no award or trophy that can compare to a returning client, and for this family and every other family who returns to me, I am humbled and forever grateful!

If a season could ever be described as ‘yummy’, then fall would be it.  Between the warm tones of red, orange and yellow on the trees, the crisp air, nighttime bonfires and football season, you can pretty much find something to love.  OH, I apologize to the hunters….we can’t forget hunting season!!

Anyway, Emily took full advantage of all things fall, and picked out literally the perfect outfits to accompany the settings.  BRB- currently dying at how gorgeous she is in these…

Gage | Dumas, Arkansas Senior Photographer

Gage is a senior at Dumas High School this year, and if there ever was a ‘good ol country boy’ around, he is it.

He wanted to include his dog (which is family & you can’t tell him any different!), his truck, and football.  He’s pretty good with a guitar, so we had to work that in too!  We also had to do our traditional picture at the Dumas Police Station since his grandpa has worked there for years.  I say traditional, because we started this at his moms request with his older brother, Tristan.

I love them all!  Here are favorites:

Christian | Star City, Arkansas Senior Photographer

I know you’ve heard talk before about people being a natural born athlete.  Some people just don’t have to work hard at it.  They can pick up any kind of ball or racket or glove, and after a quick lesson and a few throws, kicks or swings, they’ve got it.  Christian is one of ‘those’.

He loves basketball, as you will see below, but surprisingly to me, he said soccer is one of his favorite sports to play.  He has only been playing a few years, but he’s hoping to be able to play in college!  Let me just say, also, that although he loves sports, his academics are his main focus.  Christian plans to attend Harding University in the fall.  He has some big plans for his future, and I must say, after meeting his mama, I can see where he gets his inspiration.

I can’t make you wait any longer to see these….

Here are Christian’s favorites:

Abbie | McGehee, Arkansas Senior Photographer

If there ever was a contagious smile, this girl has it.  Abbie can light up a room when she walks in.  She can also pull off a perfect ‘serious’ look- which is harder than you think!  She chose the perfect location just outside of Dermott for her session.  Gorgeous barns, pecan trees, and a front porch full of southern charm….a photographers dream!

I photographed Abbies older brother, Griffin, a few years back when he was a senior, and (although guys don’t like to hear this lol!) he’s just as photogenic as she is.  To me, it is the highest honor to have a family come back to you time after time for portraits.   That tells and shows you that you’ve done something right ❤

SO without making you wait any longer, here are some of Abbie’s favorites from her session:

Alex | Monticello, Arkansas Senior Photographer

I love it in life when things come full circle.  Unknowingly, this happened for me with Alex.  She was chosen as a member of my 2020 Street Team, so when we met at her meeting to plan out her sessions, I found out just who she was!

Delta had a wonderful principal when I was in school by the name of Miles Lowe.  His wife, Mrs. Peggy, was our school counselor.  There wasn’t a basketball game that I remember going to that he wasn’t there.  He was a great example of someone who loved their job and their school.  He was stern, but he was also forgiving.  Mrs. Peggy was wonderful as well and was always there to help.  She always had a smile on her face!  She suddenly passed not long after I graduated high school, and it was a loss we all felt.  I often wondered how Mr. Lowe was doing since I haven’t seen him in several years.

At this meeting, I found out that Alex is his granddaughter!  I can’t tell you how excited I was to hear this, and to be able to catch up with them on how he was doing now.  Everything made sense once I found out, because Alex is a lot like them the more I get to know her.  She was blessed with wonderful parents, but even more so with wonderful grandparents (on both sides!)

Alex chose to do our two season senior package, which included a full summer session and a full fall session.  They were both so much fun!!  Wait until you see her grandfathers car that makes an appearance in her fall session….just wow!

She probably gets tired of hearing this from me, but I always tell her how gorgeous her skin is.  Those freckles!!  Gosh, I pray she never wears anything to cover them up!

Here are favorites from both of Alex’s sessions ❤

Maddie | Dumas, Arkansas Senior Photographer

Maddie & her mom were SO much fun!  We talked and laughed pretty much the entire session.  It was pretty neat to hear that she knew my Aunt Carolyn (the one who mentored me as a photographer- she’s a professional photographer herself!) and that she had done pictures for her before!  It’s a small world, for sure!

Maddie had SO many gorgeous shots, and although it was almost painful (lol!!), she was able to narrow it down to these absolute favorites:

Madison | Dumas, Arkansas Senior Photographer

I’ve never met a person that could change the color of their hair to anything they want, and be able to pull it off flawlessly.  That is, until now.

Madison chose to do our two-part Senior Story session, which included a full summer session and a full fall session.  Both started with hair and makeup at the studio, then we went to the preplanned destinations that Madison wanted.

The summer session went like this- hair and makeup was finished, outfit number one was on, and we went outside to load up…… and the sky was black.  The rain surrounded us, just like those good ol’ summertime thunderstorms do, and we couldn’t do anything about it.  We all decided to make lemonade out of lemons, and shot as much as we could in the studio and a little outside in-between rain showers.  She came back a week later and we finished up part 1 of her Senior Story session (thanks to Brooke and Kelsie who graciously did her hair and makeup complimentary for that second round!  How sweet are they?!)

Round two took place in Little Rock.  Madison knew she wanted something outside of the box, and that’s just what we did.  The leaves were vibrant in their fall colors on the trees, the sky was clear and blue, and Madison of course picked out the perfect outfits to go with the locations.  I swear y’all, she could do that sort of thing for a living.  They were perfect!

Oh, I forgot to mention that she also decided to change her hair for each session.  This is where the truth from my first paragraph takes place.  Madison chose to do long golden blond hair for the summer part, and short spunky brown hair for the fall…..pulled them both off effortlessly.  Yes, there’s a little bit of jealousy in my tone lol!

Every time I look at these, it brings back so many fun memories of her sessions.  In case you haven’t watched, her full Senior Story film video is posted to my facebook page.  You can see it here

Emily | Dumas, Arkansas Senior Photographer

This young lady has a heart the size of Texas.  She’s on on UP’s Senior Model Team, so we met at a meeting back in the spring.  I knew then she was something special.  Meekness and humbleness is hard to come by in teenagers, and she exhibited both from the start.

Fast forward to the summertime, and we were raising money by selling raffle tickets for my little boy’s all-star team to attend their state tournament.  Do you know that Emily was one of the first to inbox me, letting me know she wanted to buy $20 in tickets?  This hard working teenager wanted to donate $20 of HER money to a little ball team.  That spoke to my heart SO much, and showed me just what kind of parents she had (for instilling such morals in their daughter), along with backing up those initial thoughts I had when meeting her this past spring.  She has such a sweet spirit.

I think we captured the sparkle that Emily radiates (along with gorgeous fall colors and a the killer wardrobe she put together!), and I’m so glad I get to work with her again this spring.  Here are her favorites:
